Russborough Apiary Construction 2019

Not Only Beekeeping we keep growing

In 2019 the NKBKA established a new Association Apiary in the walled garden in Russborough House in collaboration with the Royal Horticultural Society of Ireland. The RHSI Garden at Russborough is open to visitors every Wednesday and Saturday from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm when you can observe our native Irish Honey Bees, Apis melifera melifera, as they forage on the great variety of trees and plants.   The apiary was completed on 22 June when North Kildare Beekeepers installed three beehives in the apiary. A special thank you is due to Irwin Bannon, our Russborough Apiary Manager, for all his work with this worthwhile project.
